Top 10 Benefits to Membership:
- The opportunity to participate in up to 12 guided kayak excursions on the Hudson each week, including weekday morning paddles, after-work evening paddles and morning and afternoon weekend paddles. All of these paddles are led by experienced trip leaders and assistants trained in kayak rescues. You'll feel safe on the water.
- The use of boats, paddles and life jackets. We have over 40 different boats to try! There's no need to run out and buy a boat.
- Beginner paddles that go slower and not as far as you get use to kayaking.
- Weekly skills sessions that help you develop your skills and know that you are safe on the Hudson.
- Themed paddles including Full Moon Paddles, History Paddles, and Racing/Fitness Training.
- Weekly potlucks and social events at YPRC's historic boathouse on the River.
- There are many opportunities to meet likeminded individuals who enjoy the water and are environmental stewards, and to volunteer and give back during community events and public paddles.
- The use of YPRC's cabin at the American Canoe Association Camp on Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park. Come for the day and kayak in a protected lake, stay overnight in the YPRC cabin. Hike the park and gret away from the city hustle and bustle. You must join the ACA ($40 yearly ) to use the lake
- Paddle in different and unique waters in the tristate area with organized YPRC away trips
- The opportunity to store a kayak once you buy one.
Membership fees
Membership and storage dues cover from May 1 to April 30 of the following year. For existing members, invoices are sent out mid-April and are due by May 1 of that same year. We request that you pay electronically.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
- Individual – $250 a year, age 23+
- Family – $350 a year, adult couples (spouses or partners) and any children under the age of eighteen years.
- Young Adult - $100 a year (ages 18 – 22), eligible to vote in board elections / no keys to the boathouse
- Junior – $30 a year (ages 12 to 17 years old), a young person who joins individually. Parent or guardian must sign waiver. Not eligible to vote in board elections / no keys to the boathouse.
- Social Member – $100 a year. No keys to the boathouse, not eligible to vote in Board elections, and no paddling except if we are having a public paddling event.

- Membership for 2026 Season: We send renewal notices and begikn accepting new members for the coming season in April.
- Joining in September? The Club also offers a half-price membership for September 1 through April 1 the following year. Individual membership - $125 and Family - $175.
- New members should enroll with the form below. The application is not completed until payment has been received on the last page of the form.
