Getting ready to launch at 7:30 AM


2015 MANHATTAN CIRCUMNAVIGATION
On August 22, 2015, 155 kayakers launched from Tubby Hook on the Hudson River. The kayakers paddled down the Hudson, across the Battery and up the East River. After a break at Hallet's Cover, the group proceeded across Hell's Gate and up the Harlem River to the Spuyten Duyvil and returned to Tubby Hook. The event was sponsored by YPRC and organized by YPRC members Jerry Blackstone, Steve Blumling, Margrethe Horlyck-Romanovsky, Phil Giller, Lee Reiser and Bill Dennison. Ground support was provided by Long Island Community Boathouse and Inwood Canoe Club and many other volunteers. Stops where made at Pier 40 (Houston Street), Hallet's Cove / Socrates Sculpture Park (Long Island City) and Peter Sharpe Boathouse at Swindlers Cove.
