Take I-95 south to exit 14 in NY - Hutchinson Parkway South, toward Whitestone Bridge. After .5 mile, take exit 5 toward Orchard Beach/City Island. Follow signs to Orchard Beach (less than 1 mile). After paying the $8 parking fee, enter parking lot, turn left and go to the far left corner of the lot. Across the road from the lot you will see a small sign for "Canoe & Kayak Launch." Park car and carry boat across the road to the launch site. Take 287 east to 95 south. Get off at 1st exit on i95 and take Playland Parkwasy to the park. After Paying the parking fee($7 on weekends and $5 on weekdays) make a right after about 2 blocks(distance;there are no blocks). The left may be blocked but a man is there to let you in. Directions to the Norwalk put-in(from the south): Take exit 16 off I-95 east Norwalk. Go South (make a right) on East Ave.. Go .05 mile to small cemetery on left. Go left at south end of cemetery than make a quick right on to Gregory Blvd. Follow Gregory through traffic light. Take a right on Second st.(first street after the light). Follow to end of street. Launch on beach at end of street. Park on surrounding streets. From New York (west) Take I-95 to exit 10 – Noroton Ave. At the end of the ramp, turn south on Noroton Ave. towards the Sound and go to Rt. 1. Turn right and make your immediate left onto Nearwater Lane. Then follow directions below. From the east, take I-95 to exit 11 – Darien At the end of the ramp, turn onto Rt 1 heading west towards Greenwich. Go 1.2 mile to a traffic light where the left turn is onto Nearwater Lane. Go .8 mile to the entrance to Weed Beach Park, on your right. (Do not enter Noroton Bay Estates, which is straight ahead). Turn into the park and go straight back to the beach launch area adjacent to the platform tennis facility. There is an outhouse available. The park opens at 6:00 am. Residents only from May 1 through Labor Day weekend. The Village of Croton-on-Hudson has improved a parking lot and adjacent launch site for canoes and kyacks just north of the Croton Yacht Club about a mile north of Croton Point. Drive to this launch site by driving north on US Rte 9 from Ossining. Cross the Croton River. Take the next exit north past the exit for Croton Pt Park and the Croton train station. Take a left at the end of the exit ramp. Go 100 yrds and turn right. Take the road under the railroad tracks (LOW CLEARANCE FOR BOATS ON TOP OF SUV'S!!!!!!) and follow road north along the river until you pass CrotonYacht Club. Parking on the left on the river.For SUV's with boats on top it might be more prudent to go one exit further north on Rt 9. Take the Senasqua Road exit. Go left at the end of the exit ramp. Take next left across Rte 9. Follow clover leaf clockwise as though you were going to merge back onto Rte 9 going north. Before you have an opportunity to merge onto Rte 9, turn right at a stop sign and cross the railroad on grade at the Croton Yacht Club. Take next right and go 200 yds to launch site. Take I-95 to exit 90. Follow signs for Mystic Seaport. (rt. 27)You will be headed south. Just past the seaport, turn right on to ISHAM STREET(it is just before oak street.. It is a very small street so keepa look out. Parking is limited, so you may have to drop your boat off at the launch and park in the seaport parking lot (free and you can also use their rest rooms) Fort Lee, NJ 07024 201 768-1360 (General Information) Directions Site Description A boat launching ramp for registered, trailered boats under 24', and for jet skis. Effective 7/08/02: Hazzards also available for launch of car-top boats (canoes/kayaks). Hours & Fees Grounds open year round, daylight hours. Access road closed November - March, foot access only. Boat launch open May 1 - October 31, daylight hours only. $10 fee charged to launch boats (season pass available: click here for details). Vehicles without trailers are not permitted in the Hazzards parking area, unless being used for car-top launch."
